Luna does not work on Android, Linux, or ARM-based devices. Luna Display only supports devices running macOS, iPadOS, and Windows 10. The apps will not work without the Luna Display hardware plugged into the primary Mac. Yes, the Luna Display hardware unit is required for all connections, whether you are connecting via Wi-Fi or via cable (USB, Ethernet, or Thunderbolt). Is the Luna Display hardware required to run the apps? Astropad, the makers of Luna Display, launched a Kickstarter today for the Windows version of the app. Otherwise, it will act as a non-retina display. Previously, Luna Display was only available for Macs, but now it is on its way to Windows. Note: Luna only supports the secondary iMac as a retina display when using a USB-C Luna.
